Solar FM, a Dunkwa-based private radio station in the Central Region of Ghana on Sunday, November 22 held a successful peace concert to drum home the need to uphold peace before, during and after the December 7 Presidential and Legislative Election.
The event, which was held in collaboration with popular music idol, Shadrack Owusu, was attended by thousands of people from the Denkyira enclave.
Present at the function were the Divisional Police Commander, DSP Ofori Ennin, the clergy, political activists, opinion leaders, the media, key stakeholders, traditional rulers and other security capos in the area.
Speaking at the event, the Dunkwa Divisional Police Commander admonished the mammoth gathering to respect the peace the country has enjoyed since her democratic dispensation and not to do anything that would seek to mar it.
He called on the youth to guard against being used as vessels of destruction to destabilize the gains the country has made in the attainment of peace.
Political Activists present at the function in their collective resolve pledged to peace before, during and after the December 7 electoral process.
The Clergy also reminded the gathering to always put Ghana first in everything they do and reminded them that in attempt to disrupt the peace the country is enjoying would put everybody in jeopardy since there will be no where to run to in the West African sub-region.
Organisers of the event were lauded for the initiative and encouraged to do more in the area of conserving the peace the country has been noted for in Africa and for that matter, the West African sub-region.
